Derek is a creative and skilled project management professional with 8 years of experience managing unique and complex projects across the programmatic landscape at every stage of planning, design and construction.
Before joining the Trifiletti Team in 2020, Derek was the Director of Planning & Development for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In this role he connected with each corner of the business as they related to the built environment to reflect the needs of the Fan Experience, Security, Transportation, and more. He oversaw the renovations at Dodger Stadium culminating in the Centerfield Renovation completed in 2020. From team selection through conceptual design through full construction, Derek managed and worked hand-in-hand with every architect, engineer and contractor on a 24/7 basis to complete over $100 Million in renovations in a single offseason. Sports architecture and project management was uniquely suited for Derek since his first role at the Dodgers was one in Pro Scouting before evolving into a Planning & Development role.
Prior to the Dodgers Derek spent several years at Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. specializing in historic preservation and building enclosure design, working on such historic landmarks as the Eames House, Alcatraz Penitentiary and the Crystal Cove Cottages. Before that, he began his career with KPM Consulting working as an Assistant Project Manager on the San Francisco Exploratorium, a LEED Platinum adaptive reuse of Pier 15 & 17 on San Francisco’s Embarcadero.
Derek holds a BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley with a minor in Sustainable Design.
