As Senior Project Director at Trifiletti Consulting, Eric draws upon over two decades of experience at the intersection of law and politics. His experiences practicing law, in the public sector, and as a political operative has yielded expertise in permitting, entitlements, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and transportation issues. With a unique understanding of the interplay between the public and private sectors, Eric brings a multi-faceted perspective of the challenges and opportunities that come with governing, a comfort level discussing complicated issues before communities, and experience within the chambers where policy is shaped and implemented.

As a land use attorney with clients throughout California, representation of his clients was grounded in researching, interpreting, and understanding the implementation of state law, city codes, and relevant policies, processes, and procedures. Client advocacy required regular, sustained interaction with local governments to ensure projects were entitled and received CEQA approval as expeditiously as possible.

Prior to practicing law, Eric worked at Metro, Los Angeles County’s transportation agency. As a Community Relations Manager, Eric represented the agency at the grassroots level. In addition to working closely with municipal staff, he developed and maintained relationships with high-profile stakeholders and regularly attended and presented at public forums on behalf of the agency. He also served as a Senior Ethics Officer at Metro, advising Board Members, their staff, and agency personnel on compliance with Metro’s stringent ethical requirements as well as difficult conflicts of interest issues.

Eric’s professional foundation is his experience in politics starting over twenty years ago. Through internships on Capitol Hill and roles on statewide campaigns in Kentucky and Florida, including the Obama campaign in 2008, Eric knows what it means to participate in a collaborative effort, and continues to relish opportunities to be a part of a diverse coalition achieving a common goal.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Eric graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree and subsequently earned a Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School. Eric is licensed to practice law in the state of California.
